We have been a fan of HOLY GHOST! from the beginning, but I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised to hear this new remix from Dimitri From Paris! He took the Holy Ghost and mashed it with his own 80's vibe. This remix is something you would almost expect from the masters, New Order. It is an instant classic! It's 80's fun without being to cheesy. I perfect touch to this already amazing original. LOVE THIS TUNE! I can only hope to see these to collabo in the future! Holy Ghost! will have a limited 12" for their album track "It's Not Over" due out Jan. 26th 2012. Purchase HERE!

TILTmag.com Review of HOLY SHIP!

Holy Ship! What just happened? And better yet, why haven’t we been doing this before? While most events leave you glowing in the highlights while trying to ignore any drawbacks, Holy Ship! delivered on all major fronts plus provided a few surprises that Holy Shippers appreciated. No doubt that we’ll be talking about Holy Ship! for months and place it on the top shelf of all time favorite festivals. But what was that X factor on the ship? If you were there, you felt something very different and so special about this trip. Production and sound were face melting, just how bass heads need it. Accommodations were handled with the experience and professionalism that exist within the cruise line industry and not common to electronic music festivals. An artist lineup and party schedule that was wickedly conceived, organized and executed. The epic Bahamas with her gorgeous beaches and a private island to rage with only 2,500 of your new friends. Sounds pretty sick already right? Well, it was even better than how it draws up on paper and I have a theory why.

Holy Shippers are wonderful human beings. There are only 2,500 electronic music lovers allowed the privilege to sail on the maiden voyage. This brought out the truly dedicated, well off, and civilized. They aren’t the people who start problems and miss the show. Pacing yourself was the only way to go, and Holy Shippers displayed that wisdom during daily the 18 hour dancing marathons. Random acts of kindness were everywhere too. I saw a guy bum a smoke, then happily hand over a drink ticket as to say Thank You. Smiles where exchanged, drinks raised, and the trip mantra proclaimed “Holy Ship!” Another time a lady orders a beer but only has a more valuable cocktail ticket. The bartender doesn’t get it. They want a beer ticket for a beer. She tries to explain the price difference is in the ships’ favor but still no dice. Just when the whole thing is about to go too far a guy next to her floats a beer ticket, smiles and proclaims ”Holy Ship!” If you dropped something, another shipmate picked it up for you. Smiles and high fives exchanged in the hallways and random chants erupting everywhere “Ho-ly Ship! Ho-ly Ship! Ho-ly Ship!” I recall several bottles of champagne being popped and shared on the pool deck too. It was euphoric. You really did feel like we were all in this together and that we’re all going to have a great time all the way.

The Holy Ship! staff are awesome. They were always available to help us out and clarify how things get done on the ship especially for the first time cruisers. They weren’t there to curb any fun but to facilitate it. I heard nothing but compliments and gratitude expressed to them. The Cloud 9 representatives were around for any booking issues that may have come up. The production company was on point. I couldn’t help but smile when I saw the sick amounts of sub woofers being craned right onto the pool deck. They installed a Plexiglass floor over one of the swimming pools for more dance floor space. It helps that they’re pros at doing this as the equipment stays onboard and gets used for the Jam Cruise. The sound was incredible.

Most of the artists stepped it up for the fans too. Sure they killed their sets and put on great shows (I’m sure others will review detailed set lists) but what made Holy Ship! so different was that most of the artists were very available for pictures, autographs, or small talk. And you didn’t need to do much to encounter someone at any given time on the ship. This was not just seeing your favorite artist from afar or waiting in line forever to sneak a picture or something. This was you and them living on the same ship. Before we even sailed Diplo bought some food from the food truck on the pier and chats up a few guys. Rusko hung out and danced with the audience during other artists’ sets, posed for pictures, ate with us at the buffet, and even gave haircuts on the pool deck.

I saw Rusko, Steve Aoki, Dillon Francis, A-Trak, Fatboy Slim and Skrillex walking around and chilling with the fans and being super gracious, posing for pictures and hearing our praise. When one artist was spinning a set, some of the other artists would join on stage hyping the crowd, spin a quick track, or just be there for support. At one point, the main stage lost power during Laidback Luke’s set. We did notice someone broke a ships’ light fixture on the deck and maybe that shorted something out. Luke starts tracing his equipment, frantically trying to get it back up and the other guys jump in. Diplo, Steve Aoki, and Skrillex to the rescue,- keeping the crowd into it and helping Luke out. They got it done quick and the party continued. Artist led conga lines happened on the pool deck and beach party. You got the impression that they were truly enjoying this cruise ship concept just as much as we were and that energy is contagious.

We didn’t make it into Port Lucaya because the ship ran the bow (front) aground on a sandbar. Yea, you read that right. This huge ship was stuck on a sandy reef. The ship could not pull itself off under its own thrust. Tug boats were hooked up to the aft (rear) of the ship to keep the Poesia from being further pushed onto the sandbar. The main azipods (propellers) were being used in reverse to keep a steady pull and we waited for high tide to re float the ship. No music schedule changed for us, and it certainly was no fault of Holy Ship! Instead of docking in port we used tenders (smaller boats) to shuttle Holy Shippers onto the beach. This meant you had less time on shore and the tender situation frustrated some with long lines as this was plan B after all. Many of us decided to just stay on the ship since the music was starting sooner than later and we weren’t on this thing to shop in town anyway. For our inconvenience the Captain gifted each one of us two premium drink tickets. Done and done. I do recall tequila shots on the pool deck that night.

The private island show on Half Moon Cay was incredible and maybe the highest point of jubilation for the trip. We tendered into this private beach area designed for accommodating tourists. The cruise line gave us towels as we got off the ship and beach chairs were available to whoever wanted one at no charge. They have this big pirate ship prop the size of a two story building. The DJs set up on top while the space below was a bar staffed by MSC Cruise line. The sound system coming correct, I was able to catch Diplo and Fatboy Slims’ sets while enjoying a beverage in waist high water. A BBQ lunch was available too and some people opted to rent sailboats and inflatable tubes. A helicopter did several fly bys to video the madness. Look for that pretty soon. The crowd was great and the mood electric. People danced, cheered, and enjoyed a cocktail in paradise. I only wish I showed up earlier to enjoy more of my day there. You could almost call it a spring break feel, yet without any of the amateurs, if you know what I mean. The clear waters, white sand, warm sun, sick tracks,-and my super fun shipmates made that beach dance party truly magical.

I would say Holy Ship! was a huge success. Many people exchanging information for other festivals coming up and of course in the hopes for a Holy Ship! 2013. I didn’t hear of any bad incidents and never really saw anyone in a bad mood. Everything just works. Bathrooms were usually perfectly clean but can get a little busy during the main shows. You might find lines when it got busy but no way near normal festival lines formed for port-a-potties. You can always take a 2 minute walk to your room to change clothes, rinse off the sweat or squeeze in a quick nap if you needed one. Bar service can also bog down during the main shows but that’s not unusual anywhere. Drink tickets did help speed up the transaction process and you can find a less busy bar somewhere else. There’s always plenty of inclusive food 24 hrs so you can keep your energy levels up. The access to artists was unprecedented and they usually bounce over to the other parties too. The sound systems were as sick as they get. Holy Shippers are first class and with such a small number of people, things remain fun and not overwhelming. We’re not talking about 60,000 people on many acres of land trying to push through each other. This is only 2,500 friends on a beautiful ship that rivals Las Vegas hotels. Being on the stunning beaches of the Bahamas is an experience onto its own. It’s a vacation destination with your favorite music. I think all of these things together lower peoples’ stress and keep them in a great mood. All of us paid a lot of money to have a good time and we weren’t going to let something dumb ruin it. No way this doesn’t sell out fast next year, if there is a next year.

TILT LA - Desiree: Music has been a big part of your life and you were involved in a chruch gospel group when you were younger and all during high school. I was curious to know what kind of music you grew up to? Who did you Idolize?

Big Freedia: Well, growing up in my house I listened to it all. The Show Boys, Patti Labelle, Michael Jackson and Freddie Jackson. You know growing up as a kid you mom listens to different music. You know all those people were an inspiration and still I look up to them now. I'm also into Beyonce and Lady Gaga, but as a kid I grew up listening to it all. My mom and dad would put on different music and I would have my own music I liked. It would be a lot of Gospel. Then I would have my New Orleans House music. When I really learned a lot about House music. I would play it at home or be at the hall shaking my ass as a kid.

TILT LA - Desiree: Did you have a nice collection of vinyls?

Big Freedia: No, my mom and auntie had a collection since they were more popular back then. We still have a collection from my aunt who passed away. Just crates of records and sometimes I'll pull them and listen to them where she use to. As for me I had a nice collection of cassettes.(Laughs)

TILT LA - Desiree: Nice, I'm building my own collection. I also know you started as a back up singer for your friend Katey Red. Did she encourage you to start making Bounce music or did you want to go a different route?

Big Freedia: She inspired me to get behind her even more when we talk about it. You know two heads are better than one so we just became a team and also started our solo act at the same time on the side. We just kept going and going.

TILT LA - Desiree: Do you guys still perform as a dynamic duo?

Big Freedia: Yeah, definitely, were best friends. We were best friends before the music so we definitely still tear the club up together.

TILT LA - Desiree: Where do you think Bounce music is headed? I hear a lot of 90's hip hop influence and some 80's freestyle in the mix.

Big Freedia: It all similar because it's mixed with 80s rap and it does have that 90's Hip Hop feel. It reminds me of the Baltimore club music scene or something. Heavy bass, lots of boom. Bounce music is off tempo with heavy bass. Its called call and response music. That's how we rock it.

TILT LA - Desiree: Awesome, Tell me about your creative process. Do you have a studio? How do you come up with the beats and the lyrics?

Big Freedia: When I'm in my hotel room or on the road. Most the time I like to get in the zone at my studio. Jeff puts me on and I just go off the top of my head. Sometimes I come home freestyling at the club or watching others do their thing. There's all kinds of ways I do it.

TILT LA - Desiree: What are some of the things that you just can't leave behind when your on tour? Like whether it's material things or your friends?

Big Freedia: I have to have my dancers and my DJ with me,that's what completes Big Freedia entertainment. You know at times I do need to be a one man army, but most the time I have my dancers.

TILT LA - Desiree: You were the lead role in a successful play about Bounce music called Catch Step Beat in 2009. Do you have any plans to tour with them in the near future?

Big Freedia: We did do a little touring with that. If it becomes a bigger production, I'll definitely want to be a part of it. It has a lot that reminds me of my childhood so its a great experience.

TILT LA - Desiree: That would be amazing. As of late how is the recording process going? When should we expect your full length album to come out?

Big Freedia: Its coming real soon. I'm in the process of working on it. We actually have to finish about five more songs so we have enough to make a selection for the album. I'm really excited about that. We also just did a new photo shoot and working on a reality show for MTV. A lot of big things are happening for me and again I'm very happy to be a part of all this and going forward.

“The "appaloosa" is a kind of horse, bred by the Native American Nez Perce tribe in the northwest of America. The breed almost died out, but was saved in the early 20th century.

When I was about 10 years old, I saw an Appaloosa horse galloping along the sidewalk; it belonged to an old hermit who lived in the forest nearby, and the horse had escaped. I watched the horse run away, and I thought, "Wow!". Since then, this horse has been haunting me. Their coats are pretty amazing, sometimes, you would look at it like at the canvas of an action painting.

Three or four years ago, I lived in Berlin for a few months. There happened to be a piano in my bedroom. I met Shara, who is a transsexual, super great lady. One night, I saw an old friend from Paris, Antek, who was part of Bernadette Corporation and co-authored the book "Reena Spaulings" (which is also the name of a fine art gallery in New York). Antek introduced me to Max. The four of us went to a karaoke on the same night. The next day, Max asked me if I wanted to do a cover of 'Nikita' by Elton John, and put out an underground EP of it; he loved the way I had sung it the night before. I was not into the idea.

Max asked me to write a song. I wrote this first song about a shooting star. And Max came up with a melody for it.”

When it comes to some of my favorite new artists of 2011 Goldroom is definitely one of them. With his recent mixtape and remix of Gigamesh's single Redlight he has proven that he is stepping up to the plate to keep those Disco dancefloors on fire all while giving you the California sunlight coming through your speakers. Goldroom has a very infectious Electropical sound that he has clearly mastered. The kind of sound that takes you away to your favorite beach in the Summer time as the sunsets and seagulls make their way toward the horizon. This is one artist that knows how to emulate those feelings and sounds that bring you all the way back to those great times in life. Australian based indie electro band, Cut Copy are currently one of the biggest acts to hit the indie dance scene in a while! The critically acclaimed 3^rd album, Zonoscope, had sky rocketed all the way to the top 3 on the charts and currently one LP that I cannot stop playing on my turntable. I had the pleasure of getting to check out the band at Coachella 2011 and The Pacific Festival and founder/front man, Dan Whitford simply brings it with his dance moves and vocals that exact to the record. I have recently watched a documentary about the making of Zonoscope and it was interesting to see that in that process they literally had just a day to themselves to listen and get influenced by old records, pick a sound they like, and then recreate with their own spin. It is easy to hear the influences on the album, much like the Beach Boys influenced track, Where I’m going. Don’t miss this amazing band live and at the Palladium Hollywood on October 12^th.

The most valuable movie from the last few weeks is definitely DRIVE. With an awesome scenario, awarded during the last Cannes Film Festival, the good deal about this movie is not just about its footage, the Soundtrack is fantastic !

Why so fantastic ? Mainly because Electric Youth are on ! Those two Toronto artists are known in France for several years now. The work they did with College is undoubtedly the keystone of this soundtrack.

Justice uploaded this awesome preview of their remix for The Asteroid Galaxys - Golden Age, that is imbued with the essence of what chilled out is, glad to hear the guys remixing again, after hiding in the studio for so long working on their sophomore album, speaking of their new album we have their newest single "Helix", and Para One's remix of their last single "Audio, Video , Disco". This remix is yet another testament to Para One's amazing production abilities. Is it just me or does it seem as if Justice is following in Daft Punk's 2-step? So far their new album sounds more rock oriented and not much like their first, which was more Classical and Housey than the Club Rock/House sound they've been releasing (much like the difference between Discovery and Human After All). " I did this remix over the summer, and when I was close to finishing it I played it to my friend, the irreplaceable DJ Mehdi. We often played each other our productions for feedback. As it turns out he and Riton were visiting New York so they stopped by my apartment. I was working on the main version of the remix, the vocal version. I knew I would make a few alternate edits during the mixdown. The funny thing was, Mehdi's favorite part was the ending! He and Riton suggested that I have that part come in earlier. My reaction was: that would work well for the dub version. And sure enough, when I finished mixing it down I made a dub with their suggestion. When I sent it to Mehdi shortly after, he responded (as a joke) that I should call it "Dub For Mehdi". He included it in his "Tunisian Summer" mix. And then, as we all know, the unimaginable happened and we lost our dear friend. The least I can do now is name the edit after him. This one's for you, Memed. " - A-Trak

Feadz from Ed Banger's Crew is in the place.

One day, as a young child of hip-hop, Feadz gave Pedro Winter aka Busy P, a track his girlfriend sang on. The savant mixture of old school influences gave birth to the future's music, now known as Uffie.

From thier first hit single "pop the glock", Uffie sang and rapped to overexcited club-kid frenzies all around the world for more than three years, with Feadz behind the turntables. They released many more EPs and her long-awaited 2010 debut, Sex Dreams And Denim Jeans, included Feadz who shared the production creds with Mr. Oizo, Mirwais, and SebastiAn.

His personal projects were quickly recognized for his hors pair selection and technique, which earned him respect amongst all European labels.

Between the Uffie adventure and his many remixes for artists such as Boys Noize, Todd Edwards, Justice, and Modeselektor, Feadz found the time to release three solo Eps on Ed Banger Records: Happy Meal in 2008, PN*MB in 2009, and The Tuff EP in 2010. He managed to shape a unique sound between Kraftwerk and Bombsquad, and keep a sense of humor in his experimentation.

They come from a time when people still believed in the future. A time when the proto French Touch, helmed by Space and Jean-Michel Jarre, dominated the airways. The Alan Parsons Project and classic French soundtracks (Francis Lai) still radiate through their music.

Four Frenchmen, childhood friends, united in their love of synth music: Chateau Marmont's story is half Stand By me, half Solaris, Half Logan's Run and no, it doesn't add up. They found themselves and each other through synthetic music, so bright and remote in its promises of infinity and eternal bliss, so hard, cold and disturbing when its outlook turns dystopian.

You may know Chateau Marmont from their remixes of La Roux, Heartsrevolution, Ladyhawke, Royksopp(after Poney Poney or now known as Jamaica), Midnight Juggernauts, etc,, and even themselves for Chromeo's DJ-Kicks. DJ Cam is the man who draws emotion from machines.

Cam is legendary in France's underground beat scene, as a mainstay of the french touch, who started his carrer in the 1990's alongside Daft Punk, Air, Motorbass, and La Funk Mob.

His 1995 debut album, Underground Vibes, on his label Inflammable Records, Cam proved his expert jazz sampling, which earned Cam a great deal of respect while that album, can easily be considered a milestone in the Electro Hip-Hop scene.

As a real pioneer, Cam alongside such collaborators and friends as DJ Shadow and DJ Krush, created a whole new genre deemed Abstract Hip-Hop. They built a sound focused on down tempo instrumental grooves with an experimental approach reminiscent of the 60's and 70's recording techniques.

Over the years DJ Cam helmed a number of side projects (remixes, collaborations, original soundtracks) and gave countless performances all around the world, and earned him the title as the first "Frechie" to play Coachella in 1999!

Cam's pioneering spirit means he is never content to stick with one style for very long and always experiments with new styles and sound. On his latest appropriately named album, Seven, Cam put touches of well crafted pop and folk hints of old school electronica, and cinematic, ambient tracks that invite the listener on a dream journey. For a feminine touch, DJ Cam used the vocals of Involve, a new signing on his Inflammable label, and Nicolette, the long time collaborator with Massive Attack, the legendary group that DJ Cam feels closer to now than ever before, and to whom he dedicates the album.

March 2010. An email sent to a Portuguese label which I didn't know a lot about, except that they like coconuts and that they've just released a couple of really cool EPs.

Sept 2011, one year and a half later, after a dozen releases, Discotexas is still more than present.
I've been contacted by SNR the French Blogger who recently joined TILT to do this interview, to introduce the label to those who don't know it yet, and to dig deeper into artists' worlds for those who already love us.
Here are my crucial questions for my fellows...

You are a guitar player and a punk music fan. How did you end up making house music?

That's true. The thing is that, secretly, in the mid 90's I was also learning the beats from the first Super Discount album, curated by Etienne de Crecy, and from Daft Punk's "Homework". The first one was shown me by a philosophy teacher that would lend his CDs to his favorite students so he could get space in his room for more CDs. And I grew up my love for electronic music this way. Also, the prettiest girls were at "dance music" clubs and not at punk rock shows...

You say you don't like sushi; how do you deal with that?

I've learned to like it after meeting a Brazilian girlfriend. And after going to Brazil, I kind of felt in love with sushi. Yes, Brazil, not Japan. Strange, ah?

You define yourself on your website as a DT co-king, do you have royal privileges?

No royal privileges. I share the same passion for it as the other co-kings. We're all kings. If Dog Eat Dog would ask us "Who's the King?", we would say "everyone". We're also co-workers and co-slaves, so we punish ourselves if something goes wrong. And we love it.

What's your best memory as a DT artist ?

There's too much. I loved when I arrived in the Seoul airport with Moullinex and there was this guy waiting for us with a paper saying "Disco Texas". We shaken hands and he asked "Who's Disco and Who's Texas?". After this, everything became surreal. Casinos, Halloween rabbits, fancy hotels, swimming at 5 a.m and good food with great kids. L.A. and TILT was also really intense. Discotexas will, for sure, release a memories book, and L.A. will fill for itself one chapter.

Your "More Tigers" was one of the 2011 most awaited tracks, and has been played by the coolest djs around, how do you feel about that?

Humbled and surprised. The track's actually 1 year old and it had already made rounds in dj-sets by some people I admire a lot, but with the release it all got raised a few notches. I can't ask for much more than recognition and praise from people who inspire me, I guess. It's a great feeling.

You call yourself "lazy", but you made one of the best DT tracks ever, how do you explain that?

Well, I don't know if I've made one of the best Discotexas tracks ever, but the name I can explain. The name just came to me when I did a few tracks that sounded rough and lazy - not necessarily in the bad sense, but in the sense that "a little sloppy" sounds delicious. It sounded like lazy disco and I decided to go with that, except without the spacing - Lazydisco.

What's the deal with tigers? At some point, can we expect a track about cougars or whatever?

It's actually a personal homage to someone special. As such I don't think there's going to be a track about cougars, but I'm most certainly not done with the animal kingdom. Plus, tigers, what's there not to love about them?

What are your future plans? any next release coming on?

A lot of things in the works, actually. There are quite a few tracks ready and hidden away, which will be released soonish. There's also a few remixes coming both for releases on Discotexas and elsewhere. The road ahead is exciting ;-)

How is the life in the DT team : lazy, noisy, german-speaking, great or hot ?

Hot, steamy and fun. Seriously, these are some of my best friends and funniest people I know. The one thing that irks me about it is that I don't get to hang out with them every day - but it does make it more exciting when we all get together. But then, who'd want to hang out with the other dudes all day - they smell funny. Nah, they're great. They don't smell at all. Really. Totally true. Honest.

Your music and specially your production sound reminds me of some portuguese dude doing music on a german label. why are you copying him instead of doing your own stuff? aren't you afraid of lawsuits?

He's the copycat, I've been around for 3 centuries.

Which part of artist life do you prefer : Studio work or worldwide touring ?

Sleeping. a lot. worldwide touring is cool because of the fresh new blood from exotic places

How do you feel in the DT team ?

It's cool because they only work at night, like me.

You reached the Beatport Top 10 with your latest DT release, how do feel about that ?

I'm amazed! I think it's a huge success for me and the label, it not only shows that people dig the music, but also, that a good teamwork between artist, label, promoters and bloggers/press is crucial for success these days.

While some portuguese guys are signed on german labels, you took the other way around: how do you like it in the end?

Oh I don't think of DISCOTEXAS as a specifically Portuguese label ... because they're not. Their approach is far more global than that. And in the end, it doesn't really matter where they are stationed, as long as the right people do the right job.

It seems you know Mike, the TILTMAG.com boss. Is he a real or a fake and talkative expert about electro-music ? Please choose the first one because he will broadcast this interview.

Oh, he's definitely not real. I suspect he's controlled by a bunch of robots from the Far East. Others claim he's just a figment of imagination.

Coupons - Driving to your House Party

You guys come from Australia, one of the greatest nation concerning indie dance music at the moment... why signing on a European label then?

One tactic we initially employed to gain attention was to only send emails in Portuguese. Consequently we were turned down by the vast majority of labels, and with good reason. Our ploy was, at best, idiotic.

You drove to my house party, what happened then? Was it worth it?

We turned up late dressed as 18th century sea captains. You showed us your motorcycle collection and vomited on our plus one. Stuart inadvertently harpooned a lampshade, and Brent passed the time captioning the mundane household activities performed by your cat. We rated the evening 9/10, mostly because we enjoyed the goodie bags.

What are your future plans?

Hopefully by year's end we would have been the first band to record an album in its entirety whilst hang gliding.

Hugo (Mr Mitsuhirato) - Label Manager

DT hit so strong this summer ! Did you expect such a quick and massive rise for your label ?

We've been working on these tracks many times and trusted them so much that we wanted them to be big. Of course its always a surprise when your wishes become a reality. Its a team work and I'm proud of what we achieved, but we won't rest on this. There's far too many things to do and great releases to be come!

What do you plan for the next DT steps : label tour, new artists, digital release, a lazy retirement in a hidden place in Portugal ?

From September onwards we have a crazy release schedule of two awesome releases per month. Between digital and vinyl we'll release Kamp!, Philosophy of Sound, Mirror People, Zimmer, Douze, Jay Lamar & Jesse Oliver, volume 2 of our "Forbidden Cuts" series and MAYBE some more. Remixes for these tracks will come from such great producers like Social Disco Club, JBAG (featuring Jerry Bouthier), Moullinex, Munk, Severino (Horse Meat Disco), Justin Faust, Ilya Santana, Xinobi, Mustang... So you see, a LOT of work and a LOT of music is coming! Anyway, I'm a workaholic, can't help it! But once in a while i like to vanish from the face of the earth...

Any funny story about one of your label-mates ?

Plenty, but i guess the one i like the most is that they keep forgetting i don't have Skype! All of of them, no exception! Ahha

What do you think about Soundcloud, revolution for the internet music industry or future-less platform ?

I love it and its a great promotional tool. People can listen to the whole songs and if they like it they can buy the track on the spot. Also its great to spread free music. I'd say it will stay with us for some time if it keeps evolving and provides the best service to producers and labels.

I have a couple of releases coming before the end of the year: an EP on Discotexas, which is almost ready, 2 new tracks on Work It Baby, some oldschool tunes on the French new label Hold Youth, and a couple of new EPs we're finalizing at the moment with Kris Menace...

Here at TILTmag we have always supported the extended L.A. fam 12th Planet & Flinch. Every track this duo touches is an instant hit to us. Track for track, remix for remix, no one in the Dubstep scene can even touch these two! The latest track they teamed up on is a track from the Indie group Echo Park. The band is pretty good but with these to dubstep kings working the track, it takes on a whole new feel, all while keeping the original vocals and melodies intact. This is all about how Dubstep can take on more then just a dark vibe, but one that has its ear to the street. It doesn't matter if your a skate kid, a hipster, a B-Boy, or a stripper. As the sun splashes into the Pacific Ocean during sunset it sets the tone for the rest of the night. Unleashing the magic of the hot day transitioning into the cool nights. Then the light breeze kicks in, that's the universe letting you know your still alive, it's still alive and breathing, so are you. Actually, some songs make you feel that way.

There's nothing like it, but there are a few songs that somehow emulate how those feelings. I've recently been finding the soundtrack to my summer as the gems surface from my inbox. Slowly making its way through the speaker wire and vibrating into my atmosphere, in stereo, directly into my ear (and surely my neighbors ears.) Breakbot has been hard at work and has dropped some sick new classics for this Summer. Watching the progression of Breakbot's production and musical talent over these last few years has been ever so pleasing to the ear and my dancing feet. I know its not only us Westcoast kids feeling this way, but the man Breakbot has set the worlds disco feet on fire. Song for song I don't think there is one man out there that can out groove this incredible musician.

Recently our man Ruckazoid teamed up with Breakbot with their tune "Fantasy" that has become an instant Ed Banger CLASSIC! Ruckazoid almost channels MJ in this tune! I can only hope we see more collabo's from these two music geniuses in the retro future.
